The Chairman, Ijede Local Council Development Area (LCDA), Hon. Motunrayo Gbadebo – Alogba, has lauded the contributions of farmers, producers and communities around the globe that are ensuring that foods are available for human consumption.
In a statement in commemoration of the World Food Day, today, Hon. Gbadebo – Alogba reminded stakeholders on the need for collective efforts in ensuring food security and sustainability.
“Today, we celebrate the invaluable contributions of our farmers, food producers, and communities across the world who work tirelessly to nourish our planet.

“World Food Day is a reminder of the urgent need for food security, sustainable agriculture, and the collective responsibility of ensuring that everyone has access to safe, nutritious meals.
“As a society, we must continue to work towards a future where no one goes hungry and where our food systems are equitable, and environmentally sustainable,” she urged.
She assured of her administration’s support to farmers and others along the food chain in ensuring maximum food output, and reducing wastage.

“As a government, we remain committed to supporting our local farmers, reducing food waste, and promoting initiatives that guarantee a more secure and sustainable food future for all.
“Here’s to nourishment, sustainability, and a world where everyone has enough to eat!”
